Thought I would let everyone know, I was banned from the HSN forums with no explanation. I have no idea what I said because I was always very careful over there. Also found out that a friend was banned today and she had not posted anything not a word at all in 2 months.
I wonder what is going on over there? I emailed and asked for them to please explain what I said that got me banned and my friend tried to call but was put on hold forever so she said she is also emailing them for an explanation.

On 2/11/2014 only shops online said: Don't take it personally. I signed up over there several years ago, and posted just a couple of times about hobbies and sewing. Certainly nothing controversial about that. A few months after my last post, I tried to sign in and it came up that I was banned. I'm sure their website has issues. I really never pursued the problem because it wasn't that important to me. I'm sure that is what your problem is also.
What really bothers me is that they police every word people say even in the Private Messages. They are blatantly violating my and others right to free speech. I have made friends that I talk with on HSN and this really makes me mad.
I am going to talk to an attorney about the situation and I hope to find a hungry one that will let me sue them and get them off their police high horse. Someone needs to put a stop to what is going on over their and I hope I am the one to do it.

HSN is a privately run board, owned by a private business. It is not run by, funded by, or in any way connected to the government. So therefore, there is no "free speech" infringement. It's their board, their rules. They can run it any way that they see fit. You are always free to go create a board that is more suitable to you. That's your right.
Any decent attorney worth their salt, would tell you the same. And if you try to pursue a frivolous lawsuit against them, when they are well within their rights as a privately run board, owned by a private business, you will loose. The case would be laughed at before being tossed out.
Sorry that you don't like that, but those are the facts.
But, I know that you don't believe me, so go ahead, pursue your baseless "case", see just how far you get.
Oh, and be sure to come back and tell us just how far you got, and exactly what happened, 'k?

Wow, Do you work for them? Why are you harsh? Being nice is so much better. There are ways to express ones self without being judgmental or harsh.
I am sure you are a lovely person but you come across as bitter, try to ease up a bit and you will be much happier. Have a wonderful day and I really mean it!

OMG..I am trying not to laugh..find a Attorney hungry enough to sue a company cause they banned you from their private owned boards?
Yuban is correct there is no free speech..this isn't the gov't.
Before I ran off the mouth I would find out exactly why I was banned? Maybe with the changes/upgrades it was by accident, maybe a glitch in the system?
With that said, maybe you did say something that warranted banning and you just do not think so? Just because you think you can say it, when in reality on private owned forums it is their way or the highway. Don't like it, open up your own forum and run it any way you choose. Their playground their rules!
By the way WHY is your "FRIEND" trying to call them for an explanation? Wouldn't or shouldn't you be calling them yourself?

golfcartrider.... I have posted on both boards... and observed what you have talked about. At first I had the kind of reaction you did, but then I thought about it.... I have a feeling that it would be a waste of money to hire a lawyer. My daughter is a lawyer and she and I talk about all kinds of issues.... she thinks the cost of paying an investigator to look into how the decision was made to "ban" someone and all of the billable hours for a lawyer would be high.
This is nothing but a pastime for people and before any company would put a lot of money into defending themselves they just might close down the boards. That would solve their problems and take away the fun for many people. I wouldn't want to take these forums away from the people who enjoy them so much because my words were poofed or that they might decide to ban me. I really don't need to be on this board this much. I don't have an ax to grind. I would rather give the money to research to save lives or some positive cause.
I urge you to take a look at the bigger picture.

If I felt I had something relevant enough to share with the world for posterity, I'd start a blog, or website (either are easy and free), and invite friends and otherwise promote it. As stated above, what is "published" on privately owned public message boards becomes the sole property of that provider or company. We can't make or enforce rules on what we don't own. The only remote chance of winning a lawsuit might be if you could prove some form of discrimination.
Sorry for your frustrations... I hope you are able to connect with the friends you made there some other way. Perhaps they will see this post and recognize you.
