Gates Foundation has funded an at home test kit that will be distributed thru Amazon then picked up by trained Amazon personnel and sent to an FDA approved lab. Trials start in Seattle.

It sounds like there have been some regulatory challenges but they’ve largely figured out a way to handle it. Just starting limited trials in Seattle and then going from there. If nothing else, they are hoping the extra testing will give more data points to give a better picture on where outbreaks are occurring.
