Re: Hawaii Just Received a Rare Blizzard Warning

In Maui, many years ago, we took a ride upward to a very cold area.

Passed beautiful cows on the way up, btw.

Anyway, I'm guessing that they sometimes have snow up there.

100 mph high wind speed seems very, very unusual, but what do I know?  (Nothing re: Hawaii and almost everything else.)

Keep safe and well.

@ROMARY , sounds like you were in Upcountry Maui on the slopes of Haleakala crater, which is where I live.

No snow today but lots of heavy and chilly rain.  Mosey got her morning walk but had to skip the afternoon and most like the evening one too!

I do have to laugh at the picture @Kachina624  posted. It said WINK News. News stations west of the Mississippi begin with the letter K.

Not impossible with the Big Island always having snow.

Wrong is still wrong just because you benefited from it.

@JustJazzmom  I believe that came from the Facebook page of a Florida Meteorologist.  He posts some great photos.

Re: Hawaii Just Received a Rare Blizzard Warning

We've seen these weather oddities all over the world and know why they are occurring. It's a shame politicians and people ignore it.

The midwest had a hurricane in 2020 and the devastation was horrible. I had so much tree damage that it took friends and me 2 days just to saw the big limbs small enough to haul to the curb for pickup. It took another week to clean up the rest. My neighbors let me pile limbs along their curbs too.....4 houses worth just the first day. While I was without power for a week many were out for 2-3 weeks.

I sort of doubt they have many snow plows. I hope everyone in its path is safe and warm.

Re: Hawaii Just Received a Rare Blizzard Warning

Has anyone heard if snow materialized in Hawaii?  I think the warning continues all weekend so there's still hope.

Mrs.SB:

You live in a beautiful area of Maui!  Nice, clean, crisp fresh air up there.

We stayed at a condo type of hotel, two stories high.  On a golf course.  Slightly above the beach area, on a slope.

Beautiful and peaceful.

Not a lot of people/tourists traipsing around.

  Off season, I guess.

We luckily just missed a golf tournament.
