Having to Sign for UPS Packages

When I get notice from UPS about my packages being shipped it says "signature required".  I thought it was just for one thing I ordered.  I am now having to sign for a package from HSN.  There is an option to waive it online and let the driver know where to put the package which I have been doing.  I just don't know why this is happening all of a sudden. Is thing happening to anyone else?

@Pecky. No, never had to sign for a UPS package. Here's a thought though, call HSN  and ask them.

I never have to sign for UPS packages but if it concerns you, contact UPS.  I don't think it's an HSN issue.

I believe you can waive the signature requirement through UPS My Choice.  It may not apply to everything though - alcohol, for example.

I also had the same issue for some reason I ordered from Amazon and package was running late ...when he came he did not give this ole lady time to get to the door...he left a slip for re-delivery which you sign the back and it should of been good to go....he delivered the next day and I was at a doc appt and my grandson was dropping off something for me and UPS driver asked my grandson to sign! so weird.....never happened to me with the many packages I receive....weird

Re: Having to Sign for UPS Packages

I only sign for a package from Gem Shopping Network.  Every time I order something from them, there has to be somone in the house to sign for it.  And show their ID if they are not me.

Other than that, I never have to sign for it.  No matter what carrier or where it's from.

The only time I've had that happen to the regular package deliveries is during the holidays or if the package theft in the area is a problem.

The carrier will sometimes do that if there have been recent thefts.

@Pecky I remember several years ago having to sign for a few packages because they were expensive jewelry items.

@Kachina624 As I stated, it is not just HSN.  The first one was a handbag that I ordered and thought because of the price that was the reason, but since then all ups deliveries are asking for it including HSN.  Was there really a need to be snarky.  I was just asking.
