3 yrs ago, I got a message on my answering machine from my doctor's office about the mammogram I had taken a few days earlier. For the prior 50 yrs that I had mammograms taken -- I never received a call. It was on a Friday afternoon and when I called back, the office was closed. I got concerned and posted the situation on this site - and many women told me that there are many false positives. That was a big relief and I felt so much better. The the long weekend came and I called the doctor's office on Monday. They told me to come in and re-take the mammogram. I was very calm over the weekend - I told myself NOT to worry.
The doctor came in the room and said, "Everything looks good." I said, BUT..... He then said, Everything looks good. I said BUT.... He said, "there's No but." I expected the worst and walked outside the building and Thanked God. The women on this site got me thru.

Understandable. If the mole is round and a consistent color such as red throughout the chance that it's something bad is small. If there's hair growing from the mole the chance if it being cancerous is nearly zilch.
The procedure is very simple, painless except for a little stick of anesthetic which is less painful than a flu shot, and over in a flash.
It's great that you're being proactive and having them removed!

@Sue98 I'm sorry you're feeling nervous/anxious about having a mole removed. I get nervous about things too and am such a worrywort. It's such a waste of time and energy; I really try to change my behavior but it's hard.
I'll be thinking of you Tuesday and hoping for the best for you. I've had several moles removed and they always turned out to be benign. Wishing the same for you. Please let us know how it goes.

That is such a cool story! So many of us are at that age at which we get strange growths, we get worrisome calls to come in and redo mammograms, and it really is a relief to have some place like this forum to come and voice our fears. I mean who else in our lives is going to understand the fear? Even more of a relief when others chime in to say "Hey, I've been there too! Don't worry so much kiddo."
So glad everything was o.k. for you Kivah! ![]()

As a teen had one taken off when it and the bra strap didn't agree!! They burnt it off. No problem. Can't even find the pink bump that was there just after. NO PROBLEMS.

Cross that bridge when you come to it. No need to waste your time and nerves over something that hasn't and may never occur. Old woman here and old worrier here, I'm just saying..............LOL

I’ve had three removed from my face and it was easy peasy. There were a couple of stitches involved. After they came out and the wound was completely healed, my dermatologist prescribed Retin A, to prevent scaring and it worked beautifully.

It's only natural to worry.
It's very likely that you'll have nothing to worry about. I always try to keep that in mind.
