Having Fun with Forum Titles

I read very quickly. Actually, too quickly for my comprehension speed it seems. My iPad lists the forum titles by most recent, so I see them all in the order they were posted rather than by category.

I sometimes get alarmed by a topic and realize it is a TV or movie. False alarm.

Today there were two topics that startled me for a bit. The first was Crochet Dusters. I thought "that is a good idea." If they are made to fit the Swiffer Duster handle, they can do the job and then get thrown in the wash. I opened the thread. Oops! Wrong kind of duster.

The second title was New Pet Throws Cat/Dog. What kind of new pet did they acquire? A chimpanzee or gorilla? Maybe a bear. I know Smokey Bear did a number on the game warden's dog before he left for the zoo.

If you are having a low energy day like I had today, you can find your entertainment in the most interesting ways. Have any of you been confused by forum titles and gotten a laugh?

I don't see what was hard to understand, the title clearly told what the thread was about.

Posted under Pet Lovers, "New Throws Cat/Dog", meaning it was about throws that came in Cat & Dog choices.

You're limited in space for titles.

Where the talk about gorillas and bears come from only you know.

What's in that tea?

Re: Having Fun with Forum Titles

Haha! No offense to any of the posters (including me), but I sometimes have to read the titles again to "get it"...what is clear to others, isn't necessarily clear to all. Ignore the negative comment @On It ....that cat/dog throw confused me too the first time I read it! As most of us know, there are several ways some verbs and nouns can be used!

Re: Having Fun with Forum Titles

@KingstonMom I explained the cause of the confusion in the first paragraph. I speed read. I do not use the forum categories to select posts. They all appear in chronological order. The category is in small print while the title is in large bold print.

It was a joke. Sorry you did not understand my attempt at humor.

@jannabelle1

My post was not meant to be "negative", I was confused about what she meant.

Sometimes it's a matter of where you place the emphasis. Ever read poorly written church bulletins? "For those of you who have children, and don't know it, we have a nursery".

Mostly, it's the use of text acronyms that throw me.    I have to stop and Google them....

Re: Having Fun with Forum Titles

I don't remember anything specific but I have been surprised or amused when I open a title and it's not at all what I thought it would be.  I like it when posters are creative with titles.
