Alabama Students Throwing Parties To Infect Classmates

Students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 have been attending parties in the city and surrounding area as part of what is being described as a disturbing contest to see who can catch the virus first, a city council member told ABC News on Wednesday.

Tuscaloosa City Councilor Sonya McKinstry said students have been organizing “COVID parties” as a game to intentionally infect each other with the contagion that has killed more than 127,000 people in the United States. She said she recently learned of the behavior and informed the city council of the parties occurring in the city.

She said the organizers of the parties are purposely inviting guests who have COVID-19.

“They put money in a pot and they try to get COVID. Whoever gets COVID first gets the pot. It makes no sense,” McKinstry said. “They’re intentionally doing it.”

Yes, there was another thread about this a few days ago.

When I first heard about this I thought, how awful!

However when I think about it, we could include in these parties millions in this country who go to crowded beaches, bars, any large gatherings, politicians and officials who flaunt that there is no need, without masks or a care in the world for this virus that has killed about 134,000 and is out of control.

So join the party. I am surprised we made it this far.

No students have been identified.

A subdivision about a mile from me "advertised" on Next Door that they were having an all-night block party. (The website took the notice down fairly quickly, tho)

People in this age group - 19-30, maybe even 5-8 years older are totally insane in handling themselves in this epic pandemic. After states began opening various places like restaurants with bars and/or bars & drinking only establishments, not to mention beaches & pools have literally proven how insanely stupid they are.

They are mostly the reason we continue to be in the deadly state we are in.

When will these people learn? When they are all dead? Maybe then when they and friends are being buried by their parents the remaining will realize what they are NOT doing ie IF going out, wearing masks at the least.
