You are missing the point. We all need to participate as a community or "herd". If everyone assumes they have the virus, and everyone wears a mask to protect others, then the spread of the virus either slows or stops. Or the viral load is reduced, which means while you may not be 100% protected, you may not end up on a ventilator either.
