I'm sure all of you younger people probably had it. But I am 71 and I have never had a measles shot
I think I had measles as a child. I recall having to lay in a darkened room ,when I was little, because I had some childhood illness.
But it was so many years ago, I am wondering if I need to get inoculated?
I started thinking about this, because ,a tourist from down under, exposed people, in quite a few places ,just recently, with measles.
I know measles is really bad, and older people are usually quite sick, if they contract this type of childhood illness

Yes vaccinated. While on subject of seniors. Shingle vaccination when I turn 60.

Who is a tourist from down under? That sounds seriously scary.
To answer the question - I think you shoulld get all the innoculations you can. Just go for 'em.

I had a shingles shot. There is a new one out the dr is recommending. In addition to the previous one.

I don't know who it is, some guy from Australia. He was in places like the Met Museum and quite a few hotels

There is a huge measles outbreak in Europe right now, because mothers were frightened of vaccines ,and didn't get their children's shots

I'm 63 and none of those vaccines were available when I was a kid, so I had every single childhood disease there was.

Do you have a lifetime immunity if you had the disease? My children had chickenpox, there was no shot for it when they were kids. I didn't get it, nor did my husband

@cherry- I'm going to go out on a limb and say you probably had them. I'm 60 and we didn't have a measles or rubella vaccine when we were kids. In fact, many times moms purposely exposed their kids to someone who had both kinds of measles, mumps, chickenpox so they'd get them and be done with it and not get them as adults.
