Have you ever lived in your car?

Have you ever lived in your car...or a van....? Some people do it deliberately to save money. Other people are homeless, and have to live in their vehicle.

NO. I couldn't imagine having to or even wanting to live in my car.

I've never lived in my car either, but if I were single, without pets, and needing to save money pronto I would consider it.

Never lived in a vehicle, but my first apartment was very 'cozy'. The rent was very reasonable and the neighborhood was safe. It enabled me to save for some new furnishings and a bigger apartment.

Where would you shower? How would you eat? Where could you park that was safe? How would you stay warm all night? Wouldn't you be better off on the couch of a friend's house or in a woman's shelter?

Yes, one month when I was still in college, although it wasn't every night. Many nights I was able to stay with friends, but I hated to be indebted to anyone - so I would sometimes stay in my car. Thankfully, this was only a very brief period in my life. Smile

I think Walmart allows anyone who wants to park in their lots. The stores are open 24/7 and it's relatively safe.

You might think that it something that you would do to save money but I imagine if anyone here actually tried it they would change their mind pretty quickly. I've known people who had to live in a vehicle because they had no money and were homeless. It's not pretty. And it's not safe. It's not like camping in a motorhome.

No, it's certainly not.

That's what gyms are for.
