Re: Have you ever been stalked?

I have an online stalker, and it's why I don't use any of my primary e-mail accounts where they can be seen and use a fake name on FB.

This woman is truly psycho, and she's been able to get spying programs on various people's computers. Mine? I don't know, but I didn't feel safe, in a sense, until we got a new computer.

I used to know someone that was stalked by an ex, an on-duty cop. When she went to get the restraining order, two of his fellow cop friends were in the court trying to intimidate her.

“We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection.

Yes, I was stalked by an ex-fiance, but I got lucky!! He killed himself instead of me.

In all seriousness, though, yes...I have been stalked.

I moved where I am now and have an unlisted home phone # because I was hoping to get him out of my life.

He then blew up my cell phone calling and calling and calling.

He asked how it was, living in [name of the city I live in]. Then he said something really creepy; he said, "I may be going away for awhile...you're the only loose end I need to tie up." He said other creepy things, but I found that the most disturbing because it seemed to be a veiled threat.

He was an ex-boyfriend I had lived with, and I needed to get out of an abusive situation.

As far as I know, he has not actually been at my house. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Yes and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. It was in the 1970's and he was a well- respected businessman. My employer at the time took care of the matter.

I have, they even kidnapped my pet and held it for 'ransom'. There's no limit to what some twisted people do. The police were useless btw.......

Yes, the police were useless with me also. There has to be a dead body. I watched my pets as well. I feared for my husband as those guys will do what they can to eliminate anyone they feel is in their way - even children. Why can't their parents ever teach a boy to take "NO" off a female and realize she means it.

Loves, I was soo distraught, keep in my my stalker was a med student who also later ......wait for it, went on to become a shrink. I finally had to go to my family (the same ones he also threatened) for help, they hired a pro, not sure in what area nor do I care, and the animal was returned to me shortly and he NEVER bothered me again. Later during a background check somebody asked me about him but he was imprisioned so I felt good letting them know everything.

LR and Sydney, I'm so sorry this happened to you. That must've been very hard to live through. Thank God you're both here and okay. {#emotions_dlg.wub}

It's all good Rondell, but it was a very dark period in my life, one I would not wish on anyone.

Sweet of you Rondell. Those years from my 20's through 40 can never be bought back and my life changed in ways that left me scarred and numb. I had to work through feeling calloused at males. The worry that the stalkers caused, took my thoughts and time I should have been using in more productive ways. Like Sydney wrote, it was a very dark period in life and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Re: Have you ever been stalked?

I was stalked for over 5yrs. It could still be going on for all I know, but I'm disabled now and rarely leave the house.

It changed my life... and not in a good way. It made me paranoid, and when people told me that I had become paranoid, I told them I would rather be paranoid than dead.

I went out with this guy one time and he became obsessed with me. Every where I went he was there. I did everything required by law to stop him and nothing worked. I would see him up to 6 times a day. He would wait outside of where I worked and follow me when I left at night. If he didn't know where I was, he would stalk my son and my friends.

He tried to run me off the road and would continually drive by my house.

You have no idea what this is like unless you have experienced it. The police and legal system were no help at all. Yes, I got a restraining order which is nothing more than a piece of paper. Unless the police catch him in the act, they are powerless to do anything, so by the time you call them..... he has left the area. He knew all the tricks too.... and I'm sure he has done it before.

I learned that stalking is all about control. If that person can't have you, they will have control of your life one way or the other. I kept a record for years of every time I saw him, what day, what time and where. He would always make sure I saw him and laughed at me as if to say, "here I am again and there's nothing you can do about it", and he was right.

I had to change my phone number (to unlisted), I changed the day and time I did my grocery shopping... I had to change everything short of moving, and he didn't have to change anything.

Saying it was a nightmare would be an under statement.

This wasn't the first time I had been stalked, but it was the longest.

Sorry for your experience and I do understand and know what you went through. I would have to shop miles from my home. Got to know other areas whether I wanted to or not. But what I don't understand is where do these guy get the money to stalk and not be at a job somewhere? They must have bills to pay and somewhere find money to pay them. Two of my stalkers had money but with money comes responsibility and that is time doing other things, not stalking. There are millions of other females they could keep company with but they choose to bother just one. Makes no sense. I wonder in cases like ours, where is the justice or compensation.

Re: Have you ever been stalked?

Women in that situation should hire those good old bodyguards, Smith and - hmmm - can't think of the name - think it begins with a "W".
