Have a few of the basics down now, what do I NEED to know?

It'll be still some hit  and miss. I can do most of what I did on the other forums. What should I know or absolutely need to know to help make use of the new things we have? Some things I have read about and learned (no IGNORE) now.

I hate to miss using something they've provided and I've just missed. Thanks!! I don't want to do a picture, love having so many lookalikes!! LOL

I don't know about "text" stuff yet. What's Rich Text? How do you color the text? Where should I find all this info under?

Thanks, and I'm feeling better about this now.

This happens when you want to post a reply or start a new thread.  "Rich Text" should be the default (it's what you automatically get when you are in the "Post" box), and it shows all the little icons at the top of the typing box above where you type your post, i.e. "B" (bold), "I" (italics), etc. If you click the "HTML", you lose all those icons and the ability to personalize your post.

To color the text of your post, go to the next to the last icon on the right: the 'A' with a line underneath. When your cursor hits it, it should say "text color".  Click that icon and a box of colors will appear, and you can choose whatever color you wish for your post text.

I hope I didn't confuse you!

One of my favorite new features is the Float to the Top option found under Topic Options at the top of each topic.  Makes it so easy to follow threads in which you are interested.

When you have a tread float it will be listed at the top of the main topics page so you can see if there are any new replies.  You can float more than one thread at a time.  Each floated thread also appears in its natural chronological place in the topic list.

Thank you, that was good stuff to know!! Now I won't hit those, and find out too late I shouldn't have! I appreciate it. Thanks again!

Marp2,

I like the the sound of the "float to the top" option, thank you for posting about it. I'll try it and see if it's what I think it is. lol

Marp2, (Or, anyone who knows the answer)

If I no longer need, or want, to "Float a Topic To The Top", is there a way to remove it from the top? TIA

Can someone please explain to me how to edit my own post? TIA

If I had known how I wouldn't have had to post 3 times. lol

Calicat,

See the 3 dots in your box on the right? click on it and it says edit and that's where you get your post back to edit.

When I clicked on "float" thingy, the next time you go there and if you want to take it off, it says I think "unfloat". HTH
