Re: Have You Seen A Baby Comforted Like This?

AMAZING!  I wish I'd known, too.  My baby had colic, not easy to deal with.

Very interesting; both of my girls were easily soothed by holding them in that position, lying them across my left arm, face down and rocking them from side to side.   So glad to be past those days now.

That probably depends on who's doing the "comforting!"

I might have benefited from some of that technique used on me this afternoon.

Strive for respect instead of attention. It lasts longer.

One of my twins did as well...omg 3 months of constant crying, then it was over as quick as it started Smiley Wink

Re: Have You Seen A Baby Comforted Like This?

I'm odd mom out then, I was always able to stop my babies from crying and/or get them to go to sleep.  A mother/the mother is usually the one that can do this.

This technique would be good for *the others*.

I never did the swaddling thing because to me it just seem claustrophobic--something I think I'm teetering on the brink of.

One of my baby shower gifts was a bentwood rocker and man did that do the trick---like a sleeping pill!

I saw similar behavior when a baby is swaddled. The tight wrapping and then holding the baby swaddled at an angle stopped the crying as well.
