Re: Have You Ever got to the checkout and

@Goodie2shoes

I got to the check out at Walmart one time and forgot my PIN.  The employee overseeing the self checkout stations finally just bypassed the need for my pin.

Re: Have You Ever got to the checkout and

@monicakm, I always use my Debit Card as Credit. Years ago I found out it was possible and I never turned back.

Re: Have You Ever got to the checkout and

Thanks @Sage04 I've known all along it was possible but never could get a reasonable answer as to why one is better than the other. Other than not having to use your pin do you know why running my debit card as credit is better than running it as a debit?

Re: Have You Ever got to the checkout and

As far as I know -- If happened to be used nefariously:

    Using a Debit Card (even if using Debit as a Credit Card) is limited to the real $$ one has in their Debit Card-Associated Bank Acct.

Using one's Credit Card is limited by the amount of one's Credit Limit, which might be higher than Debit Card, Bank Balance.

Re: Have You Ever got to the checkout and

@JoyFilledWarrior, you have no way if knowing what someone who uses a Debit Card has in their Checking or Savings accounts.

That's one reason I prefer using a Debit Card. The amount I'm allowed to spend daily is in the high teens and if I need to spend more all I have to do is call the Bank and it's ok. I should say it depends on the amount that's in your accounts.

Re: Have You Ever got to the checkout and

@monicakm, I prefer to use my Debit Card as Credit because last year my friend said that the Bank official told her that someone used her Card and the pin was used. Most people believe that using a Credit card is safer than a Debit Card but I gave up my Credit Cards and love using my Debit Cards.
