Re: Have You Ever got to the checkout and

I forgot where I parked my car in a multi-level garage attached to a massive 3-level Mall with multiple entrances on each level.  My teenage niece had dragged us around shopping for hours and hours in just about every teen fashion store and then we hit the Food Court.    My neice and I frantically ran around one level and then the next. Neither of us could ID where we left the car, even ran over to the security guard to ask. He was like, lady,  you'll just have to go row by row.  So embarassing.  Finally remembered which Mall entrance we had used. After that I always parked near the Macy's entrance 1st level.

Not long ago I forgot where my CC was at the checkout. I only use my CC because I don't carry my debit card around except to use the ATM.   Frantically looked for the CC for a few minutes.  So embarrassing.  Lucky had enough cash in my wallet.  My CC was in my coat pocket after I pumped gas I had put it there and forgot.

@Goodie2shoes those momentary blanks are so embarassing.  Several years ago I worked at two different offices, meaning two different alarm codes plus the one for my home.  Early morning fog...I couldn't get in and then I had to deal with the alarm company!

I have two key cards to open work and home gates. One day I kept scanning the wrong key card at the wrong entrance. The gate wouldn't open. I then realized I was using my work key card in trying to open my house gate. Those blank moments happen to many of us.

@geezerettewrote ;

I don't use debit cards, but I have forgotten my phone number at checkout.

At the pharmacy having to enter the last four digits of my phone number and for the life of me I couldn't remember what order they go in.  I had to take out my phone and look up my own number!

How embarrassing.  Especially when I can still remember my childhood phone number!

I also remember my childhood phone # !  Thanks

I use beloved (non-usual) Bible verses as passwords (not the usual 3:16).  That way, if a thief steals my card, & tries to use it, maybe he'll think twice, using, & thinking abt his/her/my use of a Bible verse as Password??  (well, one can hope!)

And I make sure I go the same Grocery Store, & make sure to repeatedly, go out of my way, to make a friendly impression on the same members of Staff, & Mgt, each & every time, as a regular, & thus, they are more accepting of my "human mistakes."

Heck, when my own Bank (of 50 yrs) refused to sign my late Dad's (some kind of innocuous death related paper work), my regular Grocery Store Mgr signed it for me.  He merely said, "make sure I dont get in trouble."  Of course, I made sure he wouldnt.  heh

Way back, same Grocery store allowed a check from me, (when checks no longer allowed), and I couldnt remember my Card psword.

Or, if I'd only carried 1 Card, brain fog Password, they'd put my items in Fridge, while I ran home, got my card, & came back.

Wonderful ppl!  Woman Happy

Yes ..... it's like a short "brain freeze."   We are not alone in this ...

Recently there was a fremale comedian on Facebook who did a routine about it .... hilarious!

Never, ever give me a debit card; in my hands it's a tool of the devil. After forgetting, several times, what the amount was, I finally gave up and destroyed it.

Re: Have You Ever got to the checkout and

I haven't because I mostly use my debit card at the ATM.  My pin number is kinda random so I have it in a code form in another area of my wallet.  In the very rare cases, I use my debit card at a store, I run it as a credit card.
