It's a shame that some don't want to hear about the nice gestures others do. I would think it might give someone an incentive to help out in some way, too.

I remember one year around Christmas when someone had started a thread about sending a shoe box full of various items to poor kids. They had explained what they had done and included a link or more info in the post if others were interested. I thought that was very nice and many others wanted to participate. I don't think anyone thought of it as bragging about what they had done.

Yes, you told me I wouldn't have to worry about someone paying for my meal.

I meant the chances are slim...for me too....for everybody.

It has NEVER happened to me. If it did, I would say "thank you, how kind of you - I'll pass it forward in your honor". I would never reject someone trying to do something nice - but chances are no one will ever pay for me.

Yes, so much fun. I only did this a couple of times at a drive thru. What I enjoy doing is paying for a student's drink or lunch at the college cafeteria. I give $5 or so to the cashier and ask her to apply it towards the student's bill. It may not cover an entire lunch, but it's a nice surprised for stressed-out, overloaded students. Some days they choose between gas or food....So happy you enjoyed your day, bluegrass. Continued good energy!
