Re: Have You Ever Done This With Milk?

Ok so assuming whole milk is 4% fat??if you took nonfat (skim ) and mixed it 50/50 with whole milk, would the resulting beverage not be, indeed, 2% milk?????

Gee, I never even thought about the cap color - I always look at the label. I prefer 1 or 2%.

Whole milk - 3.25% fat

2% - 2% fat

1% - 1% fat

Skim or nonfat - 0 - .5% fat

Re: Have You Ever Done This With Milk?

This happens to me with the almond milk I buy. I want plain almond milk with a certain amount of calories. There's so many configurations with coconut and vanilla flavoring. The worst is when I come home with soy milk. Glug Glug Glug....down the drain it goes.

I use 1%. We all need a bit of fat in our diet. It is good for our skin and hair and more.

I'm used to my brand - whole milk is red cap. But I didn't know that red cap is universal for whole milk. Whole milk is 3.25% thanks I didn't know that.

Re: Have You Ever Done This With Milk?

I can't believe the amount of confusion about Fat % of milk on this thread! Marketing says "it's only 2%, but 34% fat is crazy high for only 8 oz...how satisfying is that?

I use the Fat % calculation...Fat Grams x 9 = % of Fat

Milk Fat % (8oz):

Whole-150 calories, 8 grams of fat = 48% fat!

2%-130 calories, 5 grams of fat = 34% fat!

1%-120 calories, 2.5 grams of fat = 19% fat

Skim-90 calories, 0.5 grams of fat = 0% fat
