Apparently, the new "in" game to play is Pokemon Go.
I haven't played it, but from what I understand, and maybe someone who has played it can explain it better than I can, but you hold your smart phone out in front of you, and you're supposed to "catch" all of these Pokemon characters, as you're walking around.
Oh, great.
Like we don't have enough distractions as it is, now.
Someone is going to walk in front of a bus, or a car trying to catch these darn Pokemons.

I don't play games.

Our local TV station covered the DANGERS of the game on this morning's news.
Hackers are picking up your locations and it could set you up for attacks or robberies.
If you play, be careful!!!!!

I've never played any of the games on my phonen or on Facebook..........they just aren't my thing.

I'd nev er even heard of that game and now with two minutes I've seen it twice! Here -- and just before I saw it elsewhere as part of a story about robbers using the game as a way of distracting victims! As much as we think we can multi-task, we don't do it at all well. Walking, playing a game on our phone, and protecting our wallet all at once???? Many failed the challenge.
I don't condone theft, but I haven't decided if I feel sorry for the victims.

JFYI You might want to let the folks know on the paranoid -Big Brother thread. I'm serious. And thanks for the update, although I don't have a 'smart' phone.

The point of the game was to get gamers outside and to help those who are suffering from the fear of leaving their homes to go outside. The game was developed in Australia and has had success.
Its point was harmless that creeps will try and ruin that is unfortunate. The majority of people who play are doing fine and are aware of their surroundings. I see this as a lot less dangerous then old people who are allowed to drive and cause accidents.

Did you know that a teenager (I believe it was reported) found a (dead) body while playing?

Yes I read that. But that dead body was not the games fault.
