I took my 5-year-old chihuahua "son" to the vet yesterday because he has seemed out of sorts. Normally, he snores, but his snoring had become very loud like he could not breathe. Also, didn't seem very spunky. My vet said he has fluid in his lungs, but that is very unusual without a temp. She was concerned that he might have something else going on and did some blood work on him and it came back normal. Also, pups get pneumonia, but in adult healthy dogs, it is unusual. He has 2 different meds to take and if he's not better by Tuesday, I need to take him back (which I will do anyway). Anyone have experience with this? I'm really worried about him.
