Has this ever happened to you?

I'm a shoppaholic yes I admit it and I have many tops in my closet that I have never worn including Iman, Susan Graver. Kim Gravel just to name a few. I also have dresses I have yet to wear for the first time. So I was going through my closets to see if there was anything to take to Goodwill ( because I have lost weight over the past few years) and needed to make more room since some of my tops are on double hangers. When I got to my dresses, I decided to hang them according to color and realized I had several black dresses. Well low and behold I discovered I had bought 2 of the same black dresses (women with control) !   Lord have mercy !!

It might be time for an intervention !  Anybody else out there willing to admit accidently buying more than 1 item?  We know that the QVC hosts encourage buying more than 1 item or claim that customers are buying more than one but it's definitely not what I meant to do and it's way to late to send one back.   Woman LOL

It has happened to me but not with clothes. I have bought duplicate DVD'S. I get home then I realize I already have the DVD.

Often when I purchase QVC /HSN jewelry for resale from an estate there are multiples of the same style.

Recently purchased a large Judith Ripka collection with many doubles, also most never worn.

I do have some duplicate clothing items, but bought them on purpose.

When cleaning out my shoe closet to donate, I found two pairs of the same shoe, same color that I never wore because they hurt my feet.

I couldn't believe I bought them twice and never wore either pair.

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

I haven't unknowingly bought duplicates, but I'm working on another mystery in my closet.

A few months ago I was going through all my pants & slacks ... mostly black ... and found a pair I swear I couldn't possibly have bought!

The pants are my size and a brand I frequently buy.

HOWEVER ... the pants have a very full leg, almost a bell-bottom style!  It's not something I would have ever bought ... or if I had bought them .... I would have given them a lot of thought and would never have bought them and not remember doing so.

Funny ... nice tailoring, good fabric ... just can't imagine how they could have gotten in my closet!  Woman LOL

@Goodie2shoes  At least you know you really like the dress if you purchased it twice

Re: Has this ever happened to you?

When it comes to clothes I will buy similar or two if I want two but pretty good about knowing what is in my closet.  Now do I get to everything right away no.  I have dresses I have not worn yet but eventually I will.  I'm a sucker for a dress.  I have other things too.  I'm more like oh I forgot about that after so long.  That is why each season I check out what I have first.

Too easy to see something on the Q and make an impulse buy.  I have been cleaning out closets and moving stuff out and decided enough was enough. Think of the money being spent that could go to better use.  That is what I have been doing and thinking.  So, I have been shopping and wearing the items in my closet.

I have worn lots of outfits so far and really been enjoying the challenge I have given myself.  I called it my 40 day challenge and no buying clothes either.  It's been fun for me.  I can wear anything to work but shorts.

I did move out several items and took to the church rummage sale and have another box ready for donation and one more section of the closet to go through yet. Another rummage sale in fall and getting ready for that.   Not just clothes going and hitting it all.
