Has anyone used Ancestry.com?

I'm trying to discover the place in Sicily where my grandmother was born...everyone in the family that I might have asked is gone, including my mother and all her siblings.

She lived in NY after coming to this country from Italy, but none of the records I can view at the moment show the town name. I'm hoping if I dig a little deeper I can find it. I was thinking about the free trial.

Just curious if anyone has used this resource for researching family history.
