Has anyone ordered a replacement DirecTV remote from DirecTV?

I ordered one from DirecTV last night. My remote died. The CS agent completed my order and sent me an email to confirm. The only issue is that he said the remotes usually arrive within 1-3 days but he did not know what type of shipping DTV is using. 

If you also ordered, what type of shipping was used? UPS, USPS or FedEx? I need to know. It might come this evening, but I have no way of knowing how it would come and I don't know if it could be delivered at night. 

 

I have no way to track the order and it's been difficult to go up to the set top box to change channels. We are expecting a storm here tomorrow afternoon from Hurricane Nicole. Here, we are under a tropical storm warning, but my part of the county might only get a few 20-40 mph gusts during daytime hours. This will probably impact some deliveries tomorrow.

Don't you have a universal remote that you could program and use in the interim?

Many years ago when I had DirectTV I ordered a replacement remote and it came FedEx. But that was maybe 7 years ago.

@Mindy D  Is there an order number on your email?  Or a way to contact CS back?  Because they absolutely have a tracking number for each order they send out and if they didn't provide it you just need to ask for it.  I'm in procurement and trust me we track everything and our suppliers have a tracking number for everything.  They have sometimes failed to provide us with tracking but once we ask they give it to us.  I would call them back and ask for the tracking number for your order.

No, they have no order number with the email. I did ask for it when I placed the order. I will call them back tomorrow morning to see though.

@Mindy D I have gotten all my remotes from amazon, they come 3 in a pack- you can also try Best Buy or any of your electronic outlets- DTV will charge you a lot more and they usually want the broken on back- have you tried new batteries, resetting your box, clearing the remote by pushing channel down and the dash button together

If Direct is anything like Dish, they make you go through all that when you call in before they agree to send a new remote.

@Mindy D I have a rescue dog who loves to chew on Directv remotes.  Our replacements have always been sent by USPS.  I have 2 on the way right now.  We pay $5 a month for a protection plan so all equipment and service is covered and I can order directly from their website without talking to anyone.

Edited to add:  They were delivered with the mail today.  I ordered them on Saturday night.  Hopefully you will get yours soon.

We have Dish Network. Have had 3 remotes replaced(we have 2 remotes) over many years. All of them were replaced with the 1-day mail. All of ours were shipped via UPS.
