@Georgiagrama.....I think sharing on an anonymous forum is a comforting thing to do..... my DH has had several stents... it is in his family.... the males seem to have heart issues... I am thankful that these have been developed....
Best wishes to you all.... health issues can be stressful.

I am so sorry to read of the illness in your family and I will certainly pray for you and for them.
Please don't feel like you "unloaded" on my post. You gave me your experience with a stent and that's what I asked for.
Sometimes, it just helps to express your concern - whether it be for yourself or others. You surely have a lot going on in your life. I hope that all your loved ones are getting the care that they need and that you will take care of yourself through it all.
Prayers for you and yours, and thank you for your concern for my husband.

Thank you. I actually did find that sharing my concern made me feel much better. I am grateful for all the informative experiences that were shared and for the kindness.
I don't share health issues socially, but was unable to go to the Dr. with my husband and, as was pointed out in one of the responses, did not even know how to spell stent properly. I was feeling overwhelmed. I have spoken with the Doctor today, and, thankfully was able to ask some pertinent questions. Both my husband and I feel reassured that the procedure is being done in my husbands best interest.
I will do my best to let you all know how things turn out.

@Georgiagrama, Best of luck to you both on this. I often am able to go in a good direction once I've asked something on here and had many great minds and experiences to bounce my thoughts off on. It does help, the answers here at times are very valuable. Some things we get frozen in, if it's scary, and coming in here, other minds are at work. There's a number of people on here who have been through things, or know how and where to find some answers. Some days this is the best Google source.

Thank you very much. I agree. When you are feeling overwhelmed, shared experiences, even from strangers, can be comforting. Especially when it's good people who understand your concern and, have, at some time in their lives, stood in your shoes.

I had two stents put in while I was having a heart attack. I was totally awake and found it uncomfortable but not painful. I had pretty much total blockage in that artery. I was in the hospital for several days than rehab as there was no one at home to help me.
I would do research (a lot) and probably get a second opinion. The kind of blockage I had did not show up on any of the tests performed.

My husband's Doctor wants to go in and "look" at a portion of his heart that he believes may need a stent. My husband is terrified. He feels that if he doesn't need the stent, and the Doctor is just looking, it could cause him to have a heart attack. Plus, the down time for this procedure appears to be several weeks.
I'm hoping to ease my husbands mind about this procedure.
EDITED: I would like to thank each and every one of you who took the time to respond. I've read each post with interest and have placed a call to the Doctor. You have each given me a good idea of the reasoning behind the Dr.'s recomendation and I feel that I can ask more knowledgable questions of the Dr. and that I can reassure my dear husband.
Thank you all. I will try and update and let you all know how things turned out. And thank you especially for your good wishes and prayers.
================================================================UPDATE=========================== As promised, I wanted to let all of you know that my husband had the stent procedure done today. It went well and he is doing well. They went in through the artery in his wrist. He did have a 70%-80% blockage in his artery. We are hoping that he will feel much better once he recovers.
Thank you all!!!
