 Funny, I follow a mechanic on facebook and they were just talking about this the other day. They said the car repair insurance companies are generally not good and to definitely not buy 1 that is advertised on TV. Hint, hint. 

The only 1 that they said was somewhat decent is Car Max. I would stay away from these plans. They said no plan is going to pay all of your bill and you just pay the $50 deductible. They said that does not happen. 

On Facebook look up Royalty Auto Service to find the piece on car repair warranty plans. I really like the Royalty people and trust them

We would never buy one of those plans.  They never mention the "fine print" i.e, how much are the monthly premiums?  Agree with previous poster, put that money in a savings account and hope you'll never need it.

Please do tons of research. These companies are notorious for denying expensive repairs. 

I think there are several lawsuits against them and the celebrities in the commercials for misleading information.

The Car Shield commercial that says they paid over 1 billion in car repairs isn't true? I wouldn't purchase one of those plans because I'm  skeptical of the coverage. They make it sound too easy and the fine print at the bottom is difficult to read. The company expects that consumers won't look too closely at details and using celebrities to endorse this will make people more willing to buy.

Waste of money- Don't do it!

Don't do it. Reading some of the reviews, they make it very hard to pay for car repairs.  Mechanics do not recommend these type of contracts.
