After seeing my regular Optometrist for a vision problem he sent me to the eye surgeon who did my cataract surgery a few years ago I t seem like I am looking through a shear white curtain with one of my eyes and the surgeon knew exactly what I was referring to and showed me some pictures and I have been scheduled for the YAG procedure, has any one had this done ? if so was it uncomfortable or unpleasant? how long to recuperate and so on . Any information would be appreciated. I got some answers from the Doc but I would like to hear from someone who has had it done.

Nafecar ~ I had the surgery done one year ago. It is a film/cataract behind the lens. It is a fast laser procedure. Ya just sit in front of a machine (that looks like a vision test) and the film is lasered away. It literally took 30 seconds. I was able to drive home, no down time. I said to my opthamologist, "That's it?" I waited in the waiting room longer than the procedure. I did have some large black floaters for a couple of days...no big deal.

tam ~ I don't drive at night unless it is only a few miles away.....my night driving s*cks.
kachina ~ Yah, the procedure was nothing......I'm glad I got it done, because after a certain time frame it is irreversable....

I also had that procedure done. Everyone is correct. Nothing to it. I could tell the difference immediately. Please don't worry about it. You won't feel a thing.

Good luck with your procedure nafecar. I hope I don't have this issue in the future. Just had cataract surgery in May and June. I have prescription reading/astigmatism glasses and really the past weeks it seems now the over the counter eye glasses work better for close up. Its weird. For far away I need the script glasses tho (just due to astigmatism) I can see better than ever far away with our without glasses since surgery.
Again best to you!

Shorty2U Most people do not have my problems at least that is what I have been learning so most likely you will be fine. I love being able to watch TV with out my glasses on if I want to. Good luck with your recovery .
