Re: Has Anyone Figured Out Where Socks Go?

Rental apartment washer experience - socks have been known to float over the top of the inner tub and end up down between the outer drum and inner drum.  And...........static cling where a sock can be attached to the inside of a t-shirt - night gown, etc.  The suggestion to pin a pair of sock together sounds like a great idea.

I've never had any socks missing.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

OK, we've settled that problem and now need to settle some world problems.

I think after settling that difficult problem any problems with the world will be easy for us.

Re: Has Anyone Figured Out Where Socks Go?

There is something called " Sock Lock " that I bought many years ago.  Rather than cause a hole by pinning them together, it is a plastic circle the size of a quarter with flexible teeth that holds the pair together.  Goes from washer to dryer no problem.

Wonder if they still make them ?  I have a lot that I don't need nor use, wish I could send them out.

Re: Has Anyone Figured Out Where Socks Go?

@Annabellethecat66   Me thinks you are correct, little lady. I'm very afraid of the future, but trying to just be patient and not over think things too much. I have so much to be thankful for. With three children all up in years and no grands, I've been wishing for one, but kind of lost hope. My daughter and son in law could not conceive, but decided to become foster parents. They didn't tell me until they'd completed the paperwork, and then they got a call last year on my daughter's 45th birthday (in February) and said they had a newborn and would they be interested in fostering. Long story short, they started the adoption process almost immediately. Fell in love, they did. I'm thrilled. It's such a long process, but it's promising. We Skype. I want the munchkin to recognize when we meet this summer. I am a happy camper. You are very fortunate to have your children close. I wish mine were closer, but one did move just a day's drive away, so that's much better. God Bless. Heart

I needed to laugh!  Your posts are hilarious. Love the photo of the sock devil. I wash my socks with my clothes separately in a mesh bag as DH has a habit of stealing my socks. He has missing socks because he takes them off in the middle of the night and throws them across the room or puts them on his side under his pillow or leaves them in his pants. I put his in a mesh bag but there is still socks without a partner. I even found 3 socks in his car!!! They didn't even match.

Re: Has Anyone Figured Out Where Socks Go?

@pattypeep One thing I've always said (if you knew me) is that there is no such thing as 'the good old days'.  The happiest days are the days you are happy now.  Most people spend their life living in the past like that was the best time when they don't realize we must enjoy life as we are living it.  I think you are doing that. Congratulations on your grandbaby.  I love it!

My grandchildren are ages 14 - 4 year old.  Four of them live near (about 40 minutes away).  The other three live in Florida but I see them several time a year.  We are a close family.

I have a youngest daughter (36) who isn't married but has traveled, etc with a guy she's known since she was in high school.  We are friend with his Mother.  Who knows?  They might end up married but I wish it would happen soon.  I know she'd like to have at least one baby and time is running out.  We joke that he knows how expensive she is (and she is). Ha!  We keep saying we'd love to go to a wedding and a baby shower.  My late husband loved little babies and all little children.  I do too.  Don't you love snuggling with a baby and smelling them.  The back of their necks my mother used to call that 'the honey pot' where you get kisses.   Ha!

Anyway, I understand what you are saying.  You sound like you love family like I do.  I think we both understand that our children have to go and find their own way, but it doesn't make it easy, does it?

Take care and I hope you get some of that baby lovin' soon!  Fondly, Annabelle/Linda
