According to my mother I took my first steps on the Queen Mary. 😊

I was in Long Beach, too, when the QM arrived, @Moonchilde.

OT but I ordered one of those stools today.

Yes, I have toured the ship in Long Beach. I'm an art deco fan, so the ship was right down my alley. We also had drinks in the open air lounge on the waterfront. I'd gladly go back and tour it again.

@Moonchilde...what a wonderful memory you have of the Queen Mary! How lucky you were to see it in that very special way...a really once in a lifetime experience!

I think the walk from the parking lot to the ship alone would wear out my mother and aunt. I'm going to ask them if there is something else that they would like to do that might be more "user friendly."

@TexasDH,

Wow...that is certainly a romantic memory of the Queen Mary! Heart I can understand your bittersweet feelings toward seeing it docked now.

@RainCityWoman, Sounds like you had a lot of fun! I won't get to see much of the ship, but it sounds like something I'd like to do again on another trip when my mother and aunt are not along. Possibly we could do drinks in the open air lounge.
