@wonderfulworld  They too receive royal funds and all of the royals have their own money, including Harry, often left to them as bequests. There are various sources for royal funds, however, and different constraints about who is eligible for what, for how much, how it can be spent and the extent of public service to the royal family that is expected. As the queen said, 'it's complicated' and that's why time was needed to work it all out.

Thank you...I would imagine Harry was left some money from Diana as well.

No @september Meghan married a prince that is part of royal tradition. She knew exactly what she was getting into. Meghan is ordinary, and will integrate back into the normal world just fine. Harry will never be anything, but royal. That is just the way it is.

Agreed, Meghan just seems to be running with the Gold Digger's Handbook and it is really not a good thing, imo.

Here is the part I do not understand: there are other more minor royals who live fairly normal lives and fly under the radar most of the time. Edward and Sophie, for example. I don't think the press hounds them. They seem to live quiet lives and stay out of the news except for the occasional duty or family required events.

Is the issue that they don't want to live in the U.K.?

@wonderfulworld  Some here aren't interested in facts, it's all about their emotional responses, but the answer to your question is that it probably isn't so much about where they live as the fact that as heirs to the Prince of Wales (Charles) they are receiving funds over and above what most other royals are receiving and so are expected to work 'full time' as members of the royal family. They no longer want to do that... Charles and the queen have agreed to try to work with them but asked that they hold back on any announcement until details could be worked out. They didn't honor that request.

Facts?  Oh, that's a good one..

Re: Harry and Meghan's Decision - and what Meghan was supposedly offered

All I can say, which I have said before, is that my first response was to feel very sorry for the Queen.  From the time she was crowned, at 25 years old with two young children, she has focused on her duties.  She has served her people with honor.

This must be very hard to take.  It likely hits a nerve, like when her uncle abdicated his role as king for his personal happiness.  Anybody can call me what they like - I just love the Queen.

Re: Harry and Meghan's Decision - and what Meghan was supposedly offered

@ RainyDayGirl. I am a fellow American and am ashamed at how Meghan is treating the Queen and other royals. I keep seeing in my mind how kind Charles was to Doria when he extended his free arm to her (Camilla was on his other arm) to descend the church steps after the wedding when Doria was alone. I'm embarrassed that Meghan was given a lavish wedding and loaned some Crown Jewels and has been given a title and some of the Queen's patronages ( which was a great honor) and yet has blown off what the Queen asked her and Harry to do now because she is unhappy as a royal after just a few months. Backstabbing and biting the hand that feeds her is what I think of her and her husband.

And despite your nasty suspicions, it has everything to do with Meghan's (and Harry's ) behavior and nothing to do with her skin color.

Meghan being a woman and an American and biracial does not excuse her selfish ungrateful rash behavior.
And I think the same of British, Caucasian, male Harry's behavior.

@wonderfulworld  Yes, he was, as well as by other royals who have passed away. I believe the queen mother remembered him in her will too. He has quite a private fortune, but of course, given expenses incurred by their lifestyle are extensive it means they would probably go through their private moneys fairly quickly without money allocated to them by Charles and other royal sources.

For anybody wondering about the financial end of matters may I suggest the book entitled:

'Not in front of the Corgi's' : Secrets of Life Behind the Royal Curtains'.

by Brian Hoey.

I got mine from Edward Hamilton book seller the one that is online and sends out book catalog.

Apparently, the queen, Charles and William will be meeting with Harry on Monday... It appears Meghan will be phoning it in from Canada...

Re: Harry and Meghan's Decision - and what Meghan was supposedly offered

I just read on the internet where William said he feels sad about the rift between them, etc.

I never thought anything would come between "the boys". I'm just so surprised. I poo pooed all the talk about the stuff between Kate and Meghan, how Harry and William had drifted apart, etc. Just thought it

was gossip, but, now seems like at least some of it is true.

If Di had lived things would be different.
