@Katcat1  The pears are wonderful once ripened, and the baklava is the best.  I used to serve the pears with a creamy cheese such as brie for dessert at dinner parties.

Highly recommend Harry & David. I've ordered the pears, set of holiday treats & snacks, Moose Munch, and I send my Dad their Baklava every year for his birthday. Always amazing quality and typically arrives a day or two earlier than expected. Never a disappointment!

We were away when my close friend's MIL passed away. I had no Internet access. I called them (got the number the way we all used to!) and explained what I wanted. They not only took care of sending a beautiful basket, but they also asked me what I wanted to go on a sympathy card. The basket got to my friend's home when it was supposed to, and I was impressed with their CS!

I had a horrible experience with them years ago, not delivering several orders I had placed for important family gifts.  I will never, EVER order from them again.  It's been several years and I still have a bad reaction whenever I see their name. 

Thing is, I wrote a letter explaining all the mistakes that were made and never received a response, apology, nothing.  That made the whole experience so much worse in my mind.  When you mess up, admit it, apologize, offer to make it better.  That's the least I expect from a company that so eagerly accepts my $$$.

I have never ordered but receive a large box from them every year from an old boss in Southern California.  I live in the PNW where pears and apples are grown so the pears and apples are not a big treat for me.  The rest of the package - Moose Munch, cookies, salami, cheese I think are no better than items you can purchase are grocery store.

I've never tried any of their items but have sent them as gifts many times and they are always well received.

       While in college, my mother sent me a box of pears every year!!  They were so good and came right at final exam time,

perfect for a study break!!

I ordered the pears this year for the first time as a gift.  I was totally disappointed. On the air they show it as a big pear vs what you can find in the store.  What I received was like comparing a childs size hand to an adult male hand.  Embarrassed to give as a gift.

i prefer using PITTMAN and DAVIS. i have been ordering from them for probably close to 10 years now. they have absolutely THE BEST pears around......comice. i had ordered a box for thanksgiving, along with navel oranges and ruby red grapefruits, and they were finished quickly. this week i will be ordering at least 10 boxes of their pears to give as gifts.

BJ's warehouse had a set of H&D nutcracker tins with chocolate, so I bought it to try.  I don't think they are anything special and would not buy them again.  See's Chocolates are so much better.
