Re: 👀 Hard to find items 👀

@Mz iMac  You just taught me something.  I thought Octagon was a laundry softener additive, not a detergent.  Live and learn.

Maybe you were thinking of Calgon.  My mother used to use it all the time in the bath water.  It  softened the water and helped to prevent a ring around the tub.  I believe they stopped making it after Calgon sold the company.  I wish it was still available.  It was a great product.

@jlkz  I was Smiley Surprised to at the prices you stated, so I double checked.  Final Touch FS is being sold by 3rd party vendors who set the price & taking advantage that the product is no longer beinh made.

If FT was sold by Amazon, it would have been way cheaper.

@J Town Girl  A bunch of Calgon products on Amazon.  I use the bubble bath.  You're correct, no ring around the tub. 👍🏾

@J Town Girl

Ah, Calgon.  Reminds me of when I was a child a million years ago.  We always had it on the tub. My mom used it often (not me). Remember the commercial "Calgon, take me away".    She was probably dreaming of escaping from a crazy kid like me. LOL!

Re: 👀 Hard to find items 👀

This sounds like the time I went looking for Oxydol clothes detergent.  My aunt used use it and she said was the best.  I have not seen it in years.  When I did look (about 5-7) years ago, someone on the Amazon marketplace had a box and I recognized it immediately.  I wouldn't buy it though because of the price and the likelihood that someone was trying to just off load it for a lot of money.  I don't think it would have been a reliable source to get it on a regular basis.

Yup, @Mz iMac ---   when my Walmart, for some unknown reason, stopped carrying British "PG Tips" tea,  I immediately ordered up a boatload from Amazon.

Ditto, all of a sudden couldn't find "Perfect Scents" ---  (facsimiles of classic perfumes like Chanel #5,  Opium, Blue) at local drugstore,  there they all were on Amazon.

I suspect that some of the local shortages were temporary supply chain issues, but now it's so easy to just order --   nice to have that option.

@Oznell   You can find this tea (what we use as well) at Giant, Safeway, Publix and Harris Teeter. I have also seen it at my local Winn Dixie. It may be that Walmart simply couldn't get a low enough price on it from the vendor so told them "bye".

Scott's Liquid Gold furniture polish. I couldn't find it locally, finally found it on Amazon.

Re: 👀 Hard to find items 👀

Many think Amazon is always the best price; I do a lot of searching when I need an item...there is usually a huge price difference among the various vendors. WM also has many vendors on their website so it pays to also search there. I found two small chandeliers on their site for half the price of the same ones at a fancy lighting shop in my town.

Yes, usually once I check Amazon and they don't have it, then it's probably pretty much done for!  This has been happening to me a lot lately.  So discouraging.  I lost my face lotion and then I went to another one and then it went suddenly, too.  As I've said several times in the past, what I like and works for me, obviously doesn't for most people, so these things get axed fairly quickly!
