Re: Happy story...Murphy comes home after being lost for 20 months

Loving dogs, I have rescued many dogs from the middle of the highway, wandering around shopping centers, etc. I know if I had seen that Golden Retriever while camping, appearing lost, and he had no ID, that dog would have come home with me, I would never have left him there!!!!

That is how I found my baby Mia, or how she found me. She was running around, neglected and skinny near my dad's nursing home. Nobody knew where she belonged, she had no ID and clearly needed a loving home. She is now all vaccinated and getting chunky at 30 lbs (still looks thin to me) but she is eating and she now has tags and is mine. When I get her spayed next month I will ask them to microchip her as well.

I love this story! I wish we knew what he had to go through. I can't imagine no one saw him.

I love her to bits... and while she is a puppy and drives me nuts at times, when she jumps on me and starts licking me for no reason, or she nibbles on my toes when she is chewing her bone on the floor near my feet... I know she was meant to be with me. {#emotions_dlg.wub} I am so glad Murphy found her way back to her family. They clearly missed her and loved her, and to be without her for 20 months... at some point you start to lose hope. It's just such a great story.

Wouldn't it be amazing if Murphy could share her tales (no pun intended). For all that time there must have been some human contact, people that fed her or gave her short term care. It would be so harsh if she had truly been in the wilderness fending for herself all that time. It does seem odd though that nobody tried to capture her or turn her in until these campers, so maybe she was on her own. Guess nobody will ever know, but it's wonderful that she is finally reunited with her family.
