I think that we all are gradually realizing that getting together with family/friends, going out to restaurants, concerts, etc., etc. are just all so overrated...LOL

They outdid themselves.....my older sister was born on New Year's Day in Brooklyn, NY, in a snow storm!

Yes, my mother was second generation born in Brooklyn, named after her mother, Vita...She was beautiful.

I sure do miss her.

My mother's parents came over at the start of the previous century -- from Abruzzo.

After a stint in New York and another in Ohio, they settled in Pennsylvania (I suspect my grandfather wanted to avoid my grandmother's family).

My mother's mother, Lucia Lorena, who had auburn hair and green eyes, died during the Great Depression when my mom was eight.

My mother was Lucille.  And she hated having a birthday in December, so close to Christmas.
