I saw that earlier.  I knew today was a holiday, but didn't realize it was a special one.

I can see Canada from my house.

Seriously, I can.

Happy Birthday to our dear friends to the North.

I have a friend whose girfriend's daughter-in-law is from Canada and they all live in Rochester, Minnesota.  I got an

e-mail from him today telling me the daughter-in-law, because July 1 is Canada Day and Canada's Sesquicentennial, she flys her Maple Leaf flag and an adjacent Quebec Province flag.  On July 4 she will replace the Quebec banner with the Stars and Stripes and as he put it, she D_amn well better!!!

He and I share the same love of history and he is very patriotic as I am so I fully understand his comment. If the Stars and Stripes aren't up and visible he will be one very upset man. Man Mad

I can't actually SEE Canada from my house - but if I go up to the roof of our main condo building - 6 floors up - I can see the Niagara River and Ft. Erie Canada to the west...and the mist rising from the Falls to the north (on a clear day).
