nope.............I'd look at it this way....... now that he's gainfully employed, he can pay his court ordered restitution..........or I can file a civil lawsuit against him...........either way I stand a better chance of getting money from him IF he's employed........legally.........................raven
And as soon as that lawsuit was filed, there would go his gainful employment. It happens all the time.
don't count on it........ever hear of a model named Gia...............as long as he can make them money, he'll make money........................................raven

This isn't the case in more progressive countries. They focus more on rehabilitation to reduce recidivism.Very true....and that goes for misdemeanors as well.....just not felonies.
My friend's son was convicted of a minor misdemeanor and it came up on background checks, which prevented him from getting a job.....a menial job at that.
He had to go back to court to appeal the conviction and the judge granted him some sort of order so that it won't show up anymore or be on his record. I forget what it is called.
I think you might be talking about an expungment.

I think this could be a turning point in this young man's life. I hope it is for the better. I have seen his other mug shots and I feel he is just as handsome there. Darker skin and an Afro does not mean rough ~ in my opinion.

Sure he said it but do you know how many criminals say they want to change their life because they've been caught? They do time (or not) and are right back at it again.
This is a 30 year old guy who dropped out of school in the 10th grade. Seems to me he's had plenty of time to make his life good. Instead, he's been in and out of prison for over a decade and is considered one of the most violent criminals in the Stockton area and is a member of the Northside Gangster Crips.
there are some areas of Stockton you don't really have a choice........you join or get beat down every day..........I don't uphold this guys past..........but I do think he deserves an opportunity to change it...........................................raven
Baloney. People always have choices.

Not really sure who you are talking about. I have heard about a model named Gia who died of AIDS but that was years ago.

There's a guy on YouTube I follow, Elliott Hulse, that's a Strength Athlete. He's has tons of videos & blogs...he's made himself into a huge online brand. When I saw the 'Handsome Felon' pic, I immediately thought of Elliott Hulse...without the thug life.
Yes, the felon is an unusual looking guy, but it's too bad our society rewards bad behavior. Sign of the times, huh?!

Gia was just a lost soul on drugs....like many of the profession at that time. It was the Studio 54 era. Only person she killed was herself....from her drug use.

Thanks Kitty..
ETA- I just looked at a few and in some he DOES look ""rougher"" but the bone structure is the draw to an agent...
That can't be photo-shopped as it is the original on the Police page on FB.. I hardly think P.O.s would go through that trouble before posting a mug shot...

If you Google....there's photoshopped pics of him in a CK ad, w/ the caption "Calvin Krime". Hee

I saw that one on the F.B page....
I assumed she meant the original posted here was photo shopped..
