We still have two 12 oz pump bottles of Purell, one has only been used a bit.  Too big for my handbag and we don't want to leave it in the car as we had in the beginning of all this.

My preference is Hand Sanitizer by Zoya (I use their cruelty free and non toxic nail polishes).  They are registered with the FDA and made here in the USA.

I have the pump bottles (8 oz.), but LOVE their spray bottles more.  Even though my handbag can handle the larger bottle, they have little 2 oz bottles, too.  I like being able to spray my hands and other surfaces.

Isopropyl  Alchohol 70% is the active ingredient.

There are plenty of brands of hand sanitizers that do not contain methanol.   Just check the ingredients on the label.

I have PearlEssence and one other off brand (Mosaic, I think was the brand) that has no methanol.  The Earth Baby brand that QVC sells has no methanol.    I don't think I would rely on the brand name.  I purchased both of those brands at the grocery store.

Related but a little O/T...so I guess "we" aren't concerned about killing the "good skin flora" like we were when everyone was (warned about) using anti bacterial soap. 😏

That's all.

My feeling about that @esmerelda is that when I'm out and about touching all kinds of door hands and shopping carts using hand sanitzer outweighs the risk of protecting good skin flora.  When I'm home I use soap and water.

@Winkk  I understand that. I guess it's a case of the lesser of two evils. But I wonder if the good skin flora will regenerate. And if it can, will it ever have a chance.

Re: Hand Sanitizer

@kivah

People are getting sick from putting it on their hands? They aren’t drinking it?

I purchased hand sanitizer from a brand I trust - SKINN - but I rarely have a reason to use it. I can almost always wash my hands so I do that since it is the safest option.

I can’t imagine what people are doing or where they might be that they can’t wash their hands and use so much hand sanitizer.

You either wear gloves, or have hand sanitizer with you ,or wipes, you can not take soap and water with you.When doing errands,that simple.

I doubt most are using sanitizers indiscriminately. It's there when I think I should wash my hands but soap and water are not available. Hoping that helps clear things up...

A couple weeks ago our walmart had a big display of artnaturals hand sanitizer, the first sanitizer they have had since march!   Last week there I went past and it was 80 percent sold.
