I've a good one for everyone.. we'll be at MIL's in Memphis... hubby asked what we were going to have and she said, NOTHING, maybe we could go to McDonald's or something. He informed her everyplace is closed that day. So to those going to have a beautiful Christmas dinner- yummy! I told my hubby we'd have gas station sandwiches... lol

Peachysue, use Yelp to see what restaurants are in your MIL's area. There are numerous ones that stay open.

Around here, it's traditional for my Jewish friends to go out for a movie and Chinese food on Christmas day. Think of the movie, "A Christmas Story," they had Chinese food also.

Good luck Smile

Noel, oh I looked and there are places open but we don't take her out to eat- another long story, LOL ... Thanks for the good ruck... we'll need it.. fra lalalalalala...

I'm sorry your day will be like that, Peachy. Maybe next year you could stay home and celebrate as you would like to. Have a couple of friends over and potluck, maybe. Or just make reservations at a nice restaurant or hotel.

Good luck!

Having Kansas City beef brisket and some sides. Seems like prime rib is popular here. Once I tried beef tenderloin there was no turning back for me!

Christmas Eve breakfast for my family. Brisket, egg puffs, hashbrown casserole, fried apples, bacon, biscuits, gravy, sausage balls, cinnamon buns/cake. Then will open gifts. Next, sliced ham, turkey, chicken to make sandwiches. Cranberry relish, deviled eggs, potato salad, veggie tray, fruit tray, bourbon balls, cookies, candy, almond pastries, pumpkin bars and whatever else is hidden in the fridges. LOL Christmas day will be spent with his family and it will be leftovers taken to their house.

For Christmas Eve I will serve green corn tamales, refried beans, mexican rice, freshly made guacamole and chips. For dessert a pumpkin upside down cake.

Christmas Day I will be serving spiral sliced ham, stuffing balls, au gratin potatoes, pineapple mess, lime jello salad, green beans almondine, fresh dinner rolls and a coconut lemon filled cake.
