Halloween candy. Did you purchase too much too little or just right

Since I almost ran out last year I bought much more for this year. We had a rainy evening on Philly and now I have loads left over; as do all my friends, family and co-workers. What to do with it all since I don’t eat sugar🤷‍♀️

I had no kids at my door at all, so yes, the one bag I got was too much.

I had just enough candy:  No one rang the bell here (I didn't even hear any kids in the street outside). This turned out to be a fortunate circumstance as I had bought only one bag of "fun-size" Snickers and I ate every one of those over the weekend, so there were none left.

It came out even--I had no candy left and no one rang the bell.  Fortuitous!  Smiley Surprised

Didn't buy any. I stopped giving out candy in 2015. We only would receive less than 10 kids in any given year so I just stopped.

WAY too much!!  We never know how many kids we will get.  It varies tremendously from year to year.  This year we only had 14 kids.  Far and away the lowest number ever.  My husband dopped off about 200 pieces of candy to a local church that donates it this morning.

@gellen  We got it almost exactly right this year. I thought we would have too much, because we had some light rain. But, I was happy to see an uptick in Halloweeners this year after many years of slow going. I had kept one bag of Take 5's back because, well...But DH told me to break it out when he saw the bottom of the bowl showing through. Turns out, we didn't use it. What to do, what to do!

I got it right this time , we got a lot of trick or treaters as usual , and we only had a few pieces left.

@gellen   We stocked up a few months ago...somany bags of the mini treats. Yes, a lot of kids came knocking and most of it's gone.

BTW, at the grocery store yesterday, the aisle w/ bags of candy? None.

I put up a sign that says

No Halloween At This House, Thank You.

I have done this the past three Halloweens now and it is much less stressful...

dogs do not go crazy, I do not have to get the door bell a dozen times... and I can eat dinner in peace and  go to bed at an early hour... best thing I ever did was put up that sign. Also I am not buying candy that I end up throwing out.... save money and these days that is important...

Our streets are referred to as the "roller coaster".  We haven't had trick or "treaters" in years, although, I loved their excitement.
