I will be with my immediate family doing mini versions of all, so nothing will be cancelled. Maybe the commercialism will be but not the joy, togetherness or meaning. I love so many more families will spend Thanksgiving together than being at a Walmart ect.......

There is nothing happening to make me think any of the large gatherings you mention will he held. It is likely going to be halfway through next year, at best, before it is safe. And that is thinking optimistically.

@Suziepeach As long as I can still watch It’s the great pumpkin, Charlie Brown, I’ll be fine. 😊

Pat, maybe the ball will be dropped but in attendance will be very few who can stand in as representatives. A possible list: The mayor of NYC; perhaps the state governor; and, to make it feel familiar, Ryan Seacrest. What would New Year's Eve be if it did not "rock"?
Pipe in "Auld Lang Syne" to keep a feeling of tradition and a continuation of life as we knew it. We need hope more than anything now.
Maybe some Frank Sinatra could be broadcast after the ball has dropped. Of course I'm thinking of "New York, New York." Something to lift our spirits.
A bunch of cutouts of partiers filling Times Square like a baseball game.

yes, I think holiday celebrations will be canceled. I will be choosing not to allow my kids to trick-or-treat this year. I'll have to come up with something fun to do to make it a memorable day

It was my wish we wouldn't have to carry these concerns into next year. Does anyone know how things have been going at Disney FL since their reopening? I have to think we will be able to start congregating after Christmas. I've accepted no family gatherings until January, but that's when my patience runs out.

Not to take away hope or dampen spirits, but...
America’s Coronavirus Endurance Test To defeat the virus, we will have to start thinking in years, not months.
