People can celebrate Halloween whenever they wish. Changing the date is nonsense. Should Christmas be changed from the 25th to the last Sunday in December?

Ridiculous - plain and simply.

It's on the 31st for a historically religious reason...you can look it up.

Re: 🎃👻Halloween Poll

Halloween has become secular holiday, but actually it is a religious day.  Christians celebrate all saints Day and all Souls Day.  Halloween means Holy Eve and is all

 Saints Day. A day to honor Martyred Christian Saints.

It's a day like Christmas...it took on a whole new meaning for people to party and have fun, when originally it was a religious occasion.

It doesn't matter to me if they change trick or treating.  Where I live it  is very seldom done on Oct. 31 Anyway.  It is usually on a Thursday night.

Worthless holiday.

I know kids like the candy.....but like so many things...it just is not a safe way to get free candy theses days going to strangers homes.  I would prefer that they have a place to go ( a mall or school) and not knock on doors.  It upsets my dogs....and I go to bed early.

baHUMBUG!😁

@SeaMaiden I have always thought that "Trunk or Treat" was really safe and kind of cool unless you have a neighborhood that blocks off traffic.  I have seen smaller neighborhoods do that and the kids can walk the streats, parents dress up, it's a street party!  How cool!

If these injuries happen every year, then obviously it happens on a Saturday too. The lack of logic is astounding. Also there is no reference to what organization collected and analyzed the data. Not much of a persuasive argument to mess with the date. It's all about the $$$.

There seems to be a move on to change everything that has been tradition.  I do think that sometimes there is a good reason not to just continue doing the same thing year after year.  But it seems like now it’s just ‘change’ for change sake.

@Carmie

It’s actually on Thursday this year.

I always feel for the teachers when November 1st

falls on a school day. Sugar Coma is real. 😆

@sidsmom   I feel sorry for the teachers every day.  I volunteer at a local school and you could not pay me to be a teacher.  I have a great respect for them.
