I'm not into the Hallmark channel Christmas movies any more. Not sure why, but every year the Hallmark channel would be on in the background, if not QVC, and I would enjoy it. Now these story lines just aren't doing it for me any longer. I have been watching more of the classic Christmas movies on Freeform.

I think it's because after so many years they really have become so incredibly predictable, sappy and average at best. Added to that, whether we're talking Hallmark, UPN, Lifetime or GAC, this year's offerings, overall, were pretty bad. There was the rare exception or two, but most of them were just meh. They were not very good and featured mediocre stories, mediocre story telling and mediocre acting.

I love Hallmark movies because they are predictable, soothing, and most importantly, they make you feel good.  Additionally, you can trust the producers to weed out anything that is visually upsetting.  For drama, adventure, and horror, I simply flick to the news.  It is a short vacation from reality.  That it is the same actors over and over again, with the same story or plot lines, is fine.  When it is over, I feel good.  It is a psychological feel-good fix, and we need a place like Hallmark to rest and escape.

HA!  "news" comment  heh

I totally agree with you, all the way 'round!

I welcome the predictably happy endings (as opposed to the news details & outcome, most times)

And I infrequently am able to sit down, and just enjoy any movie. Christmas is the time for me to do so. And that's when bombarded, in a good way, with a multi-channel selection of many "feel good" movies.  Woman Happy
