Re: Halleluah! He is Risen From the Dead!!! Happy Easter Positive Thread

Dr. Stanley is a man of GOD, I had the honor of meeting him, talking to him,and hugging him, my husband took me to Atlanta for his 70th birthday, the church had for him, I so wish I could find a church locally that gives me the feeling ,I had at that church.

Happy Easter everyone!

gloriajean.....I, too, attended the Easter vigil last night. As usual, it was beautiful. It is still difficult trying to get through the holidays. There is always some memory that can be attached to all previous holidays, as well as just plain, everyday situations. Thank you for this uplifting thread.

Shoelady - I'm sure there are lots of reminders of happier times together, Jesus knows it all, and He continues to comfort you, and so we here! Thanks for posting, and thanks all for your posts, I'm going to Mass again this morning shortly, as Linus is Eucharistic Minister. Here's another picture of the Resurrection.

Re: Halleluah! He is Risen From the Dead!!! Happy Easter Positive Thread

This morning I did the children's minute (children through the 4th grade) at church. I wrapped an empty box with pretty paper and bow and had the kids unwrap it. When they saw it was empty I told then the empty box represented an empty tomb which was God's gift to all of us, and reflected on the Easter story. They helped me tell the story of Jesus death and resurrection and really got the message. I was proud of these kids.

"He is not here; He is risen."

Oh, and they did receive a gift of Easter candy at the end of my message. They loved it.

I so enjoyed this thread though I didn't get here yesterday, it's never too late. It breaks my heart when I see someone that doesn't believe in the resurrection. I will always be thankful to God for giving me a simple, childlike faith.

Didn't know about John Starnes passing. I saw him recently on an old rerun. My Mother used to say there was something about that pastor (Stanley) that "rings true". I knew just what she meant; spirit filled.
