Empty gesture ??? Unbelievable.
Lowering the flag is one of the most important "gestures" and is a sign of the greatest respect that our country does to honor our fallen.
What's soo hard to 'believe'? A lowered flag is not a plan to ensure the safety of our citizens. You don't have to agree, but it's what many of us think.

I guess lowering the flags for the upcoming
December 7 Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is not needed, as well.
Or Memorial Day.
Or September 11 Patroit Day.
Or any of those silly other days.
Maybe that's what we really need....more respect & love.

I hope the next suicide bomber thinks about respect & love.

Interesting choice of words. Humm.
Do you know something we don't know?

If they had respect & love none of this would be happening. Odd that you don't know what I'm talking about.

We aren't fighting those enemies any more. There's the rub imo.

While I agree with you, he has been all over the place and not consistent with his use of the half staff flag use. Whitney Houston yes, but took 5 days of media outrage to decide if the slaughtered Soldiers in Chatanooga would get that honor.

Whitney Houston? That had nothing to do with the American flag for the Nation.
That was the New Jersey governor which made the Proclamation to Half-Staff for his state only, not the President for the entire US.
