Half-Staff Flags: 12/7, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

[ Edited ]

Honoring those who lost their lives on December 7, 1941,
on this National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day,
78th anniversary of "The Day of Infamy",
a President’s Proclamation will be issued to

lower all American flags to half-staff for Saturday only.

The words "a date which will live in infamy" still just get to me as I'm sure they do lots of us.

@Love my grandkids ...Your words couldn't have been said better.  The date is embedded in the memories of those of us who were there when it was reported.  God Bless These United States Of America.

I was not ‘here’ yet, but my Great Uncle was stationed there, and was on day shore leave at the time. Remember my Grandmother talking about waiting, and, waiting.  They knew his ship had been badly damaged, but nothing else for over a week.

How do you ever say thank you?

Thank you @sidsmom @Drythe @Lindsays Grandma @Love my grandkids for remembering. I hadn't been born then but I am from a long line of military men and women. God Bless America.
