@Effie54 Why are you blaming the press.  They are only bringing you information.  With a projection that 40 to 60% of the population getting this virus my thinking is the last thing we have to worry about is our hair.

Its being blown out of proportion. Did they do this with the H1N1??

All hair and nail salons should be closed, I can't believe anyone would even consider going to one. Selfishness and vanilty are still obviously going strong I guess. Let's care about others.

All those types of places have been closed for a few weeks here in WA state--I've not seen any open at all----my hair person owns her own shop and is one of 2 that work there---I wouldn't risk seeing her right now----but will when it is safe to do so ---hopefully this won't bankrupt her-----

Seriously you think this is being blown out of proportion, time for a reality check, this is serious and life threatening to many

My oncologist called to reschedule my followup appointment (for next week) until June. If this pandemic is serious enough to cancel that, cancelling a hair appointment is a no brainer.

@reiki604  So true!
My oncologist also canceled my check up for today. Rescheduled for May.

I canceled hair yesterday! Hope I don't have to wait until May but could be worse; didn't have hair 4 years ago!!

I live in Ohio.  On Monday they asked the dental board to close all dentists office.

As of yesterday, all hair salons, barbershops, spas, etc. have been closed.  To my knowledge they are closed until further notice.

I received a text over the weekend that my eye appointment in April was canceled and my doctor's appointment for next week was canceled.  They called me and said they are not seeing any patients right now at all unless it's an emergency.

My Mom is 83. She gets her hair done weekly at a small salon. She has been getting her hair done for over 60 years. She is pretty healthy. We advised her not to go. She went. She also stopped for groceries-even though I offered to get whatever she needed. She used her hand sanitizer & I dropped wipes off for her last week.

My youngest son is an infectious disease pharmacist at a hospital. I will see if he can encourage her to stay home. He told us to prepare for quarantine weeks ago.

My mother did the same thing. They don't listen.

I think we have the same mother!Woman Frustrated

My mom is the same.

My sister is getting her groceries, so she finally stopped going to the store, but there's no way anybody is talking her into staying home from her hair appointments--unless the stylist cancels, and up to this point, she hasn't.
