Hair Cut Too Short

Hi,

My usual hair stylist had a family emergency and had to have another stylist work on my hair. She never did my hair color, cut, and style. Well, I told her I wanted just a smidge cut off my hair. My hair is so short and was cut about three inches. Do you know how long it takes for hair to grow. I think it will be fall before I see any growth! What a heart break! Any suggestions about what, maybe, to eat that promotes hair growth? My hair was only at a medium length before.
