I had annual mammogram and ultrasound May 19 2020 and was referred to breast surgeon. I had another mammogram, ultrasound and then a biopsy right after on the same day 3 weeks ago. It was a core needle biopsy with a titanium marker put in. I went back a week later and was told it was cancer but extremely small Stage 1. I am having a lumpectomy Aug 17. I consider it good news because you couldn't feel it and it is so small and a good time to catch it. The doctor said no chemo only 4 weeks of radiation. Don't sweat the biopsy it is a little uncomfortable but they shoot in Lidocaine to numb the area and I didn't even feel that. Take it easy for a few days and put your ice bag on. I just think that if children can go thru cancer treatments then so can I. I think laughter is good and I got out of cooking for 2 days! Good luck and relax and people will be sending you good vibes and prayers.

I agree that the sooner the better. I had a biopsy, stage 1 cancer, lumpectomy clean margins (lymph nodes) last may. All is fine, with me. I'm under great care for the next 5 yrs. I had a newer procedure where I had internal radiation during surgery so I didnt have to have weeks of follow up radiation treatments. Per doctors orders I had 2 weeks off work but I was up and relaxing in 2 days.
Because of my urging my coworker who neglected her mammograms for two yrs found out she had stage two and her margins weren't clear so they removed lymph nodes. She has since had chemo and radiation treatments for almost a year.
Always get mammograms.
ETA. I try not to worry about things I don’t have control over. I worry a lot about stupid stuff I do have control over (hate it)
Surrender it all and know He is in control.
You will be fine, in doctors hands.

Bobby
im not on anything. Mine was inductual / non invasive. Please explain what your on and I'll ask my doctor in October.
ETA I checked the medicine you referenced, it is for those with her positive receptor and for leveling estrogen hormones.
My doctor originally mentioned she could put me on something but didn't feel necessary but she did ask. I declined knowing they are watching me carefully. Hopefullly if she thought it was needed for me she would have requested it.
Good reminder I will follow up with her.

Still playing the waiting game and it's torture! Someone from the big hospital called me yesterday where I'm to have biopsy done. Had to answer many questions, etc. She said she'd call me back to schedule biopsy after Drs. had time to look over all my mammo images. Still scared. Didn't think it'd take this long to set it up.
