Agree. It would have hurt my feelings to think I looked forward to meeting this old friend, and the event had so little meaning to her that it slipped her mind. Unless her apology was totally convincing, I wouldn't set myself up again.

Have had friends in my life like that. You almost come to expect it from them. You will have a good laugh about it when you get together. Remembering good times with old friends is the best.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

Maybe that's why it would bother me. I didn't have friends who were like that. I guess if that's the way they always were it wouldn't be so insulting.

i just want to say that i love the way you keep a more positive attitude about a situation like this. it is so much easier to be negative, but i would definitely give her another chance also, especially since @cookinfreak did not have a way to get in touch with her.

I think if a man had done this to her there wouldn't have been one response giving him the benefit of the doubt -new man or old flame yet for an old female friend it was given a pass as "that's how she is"

I would never excuse this sort of behavior from any one man or woman, it is selfish and childish.

There has to be a reason she never exchanged phone numbers with you. I think she chickened out because her appearance has changed drastically.

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.
