My cat Boo is so big and dumb and funny! Right now, up there in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) we're having a cold spell and everything outdoors is frozen solid.
Boo is an outdoor cat during the summer and he loves to sack out on the deck or back yard where he can let the sun beat down on him while he slumbers in peace. Well right now he can't do that; it's 26 degrees and no good weather for little kitties to go out in--as DH and I keep TRYING to tell him.
However, Boo has been at the back door for several days, whining and crying and howling to be let out. Since it's freezing cold but dry, we decided to give him what he wants and see how he likes it.
At first he thought it was ok. The deck was frozen enough that there was a very dry, slightly rough (good footing) surface and Boo found it acceptable...acceptable enough that he tried to get over the to STAIRS so he could (theoretically) go down and run around the back yard. I grabbed him before he could make his move and brought him in, and got a dirty look as my reward for preventing him from getting badly chilled.
A while later, he wanted to try again and since things were warming up a little and getting wet and sloppy, I thought, OK, Boo, go get your paws wet and cold and see how you like it.
Again, he DIDN'T like it at all and came high-tailing (as well as he could under the circumstances) in through the door and again gave ME a dirty look. It was MY fault that his feet were cold and wet--I FORCED him outside!
What a cat! Do yours do this same kind of thing?
