I don't know if this was mentioned, but another way to start is with seasonal work, because that's where a lot of employers scout for new permanent workers.

Stores will be hiring any time soon now for the holiday season. IMO the smaller stores are good, the stable ones that hopefully won't be going out of business any time soon.

Check your nearby malls... she can go in and ask when they'll be hiring and get an app to fill out.
