HSN hosts cutting off caller testimonials. And mute caller.?

[ Edited ]

I recently have noticed HSN hosts are cutting down the time callers tells their testimonial story.

Also I have noticed lots of muting within testimonial calls.

I do not understand why the testimonial callers are reduced in time.  It seems the host cuts the caller off before caller is finished talking.

Also I wonder why the caller is muted during the testimonial call.

Can anyone enlighten me on both of my curiosity?

Thank you.

Re: HSN hosts cutting off caller testimonials. And mute caller.?

Hi, @EatWell!  In my experience, HSN has always managed the call ins better than the Q.  They get the info they need/want from the caller, then end the call.  Some callers go on and on about issues other than the product on the Q, so from my perspective, HSN keeps the calls en pointe.  I do think that many of the callers are lonely and seeking connection with somebody.

I have given testimonials but stick to the product presented.  Even when the host wanted to engage with me (testimonial about AeroPilates in January and I lived in Hawaii), I didn’t really engage in the discussion because it wasn’t relevant to the info I wanted to offer.

Re: HSN hosts cutting off caller testimonials. And mute caller.?

years ago, I purchased something from a shop channel. I can’t remember which one, it was NOT hsn,Q, or evine. The channel is not longer on air. This is going way back.

I sent a letter email about how much i like the product so forth. Well about week or two go by i was contacted by this shop channel. Asked several questions. That was it.

aobut a month or so later, I was contacted by the shop channel again, and interviewed of what i was going to say, how i was going to say it and so forth.

well this product came on the air, I WAS CALLED by this shop channel and put on the air live and had to tell them all about this product. I had less than 20 seconds to say what i was pretty much told to say. They cut me off just as rudely.

i never ever called a shop channel again about products i have purchased from them.

Calls cannot go on forever. Sometimes callers have a tendency to go on and on. As for muting a caller? Maybe something inappropriate was said.

@EatWell

During the Beekman boy's hours the calls were a mess.  The host apologized and stated HSN was "updating" the phone (testominial) lines and weren't working correctly.

Then when someone got thru I noticed many being muted but based on answers/replies from host/boys they kept reminding "can't make medical claims (or something like this) and another caller was "complaining" -- that call got muted immediately!

I'm pretty sure there is a delay in calls & they can cut a call at anytime.

When the caller is muted they are making claims HSN cannot verify.

HSN has always abruptly ended calls.  I've always hoped an employee gets on the line and thanks the caller for calling before she's disconnected.

I watched quite a bit of HSN yesterday.  Most times, I wished that there were fewer callers and that they would cut off the long-winded calls.  Didn't notice them cutting callers off as much as I noticed that there seemed to be a bit of difficulty connecting to the caller at the beginning of most calls.

I was watching HSN yesterday and noticed they were having trouble with their phone lines. The caller couldn't hear the hosts and responses were delayed.  Please, QVC and HSN get rid of testimonials all together.  They don't make me purchase the merchandise. The caller puts in some personal chatter that they really shouldn't be doing. Stop the madness! Just sell your wares. No phone calls please.

I never pay attention to those call-ins, sometimes the caller is too chatty, not making sense, has kids or dogs in the background, their TV on too loud or even dare I say, half-in-the bag. Not credible.
